A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing (a poem)

Reading this poem by a thirteen year old girl I know reminded me that words have power; they have healing capabilities.

This 13 year old girl had been bullied for years, her very safety being threatened, even by those who claimed to be her friend. So, when asked write a poem for her English class a few years after switching schools and being removed from the situation, she used her words to express her pain and healing.

Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

My mind, clouded by thought and anxiety

You dug your claws into me

I screamed for help

But on one could hear me though the kelp

Your strings too thick to break

I fell to you, a disgrace

When I finally set my wings free

You were still a part of me
